All Bird Street members are required to participate in academic programming and may connect with our tutors for support if needed. We aim to provide a safe and fun environment where youths can learn, grow, and be themselves. With programs that engage nearly anyone’s interest and instructors who are experts in their fields, Bird Street provides youths with an oasis for healthy development of social and professional skills essential for the future.
Offering students study spaces, mentorship and, through collaboration with Northeastern University and Boston College we are able to have volunteers on hand every day during the school year to help assist with homework tutoring and programming.
Servicing youths and young adults as they navigate through the everyday challenges of growing up in the city of Boston, Bird Street case management services allows for youth to complete community service and be referred to the most appropriate resources based off current situations.
We aim to build young leaders and active strong community members through our High School and Middle School Youth leadership councils. These programs allow youth to be civically engaged impacting their community in a positive way not to mention fundraising to help support programming and our end of the year field trip to six flags.
Connecting creative skills and business development in a variety of arts entrepreneurship classes that will allow youth freedom of expression and help to build crucial skills for becoming young adults that can acquire as well as retain employment opportunities.
We aim to build up youth through sports stressing the importance of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and communicating effectively towards reaching a common goal. Through our leagues and recreational activities youth have the opportunity to be in their own space doing activities they love in order to stay active and healthy individuals.
